Norm Hennig-Pereira

Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Rev. Norm completed his Bachelor of Education degree, followed by two years of music, at the University of Calgary.  His path took a new direction when his avocation as a youth leader at his home church became his calling to ordered ministry.  He studied theology in Berkeley, California; Waterloo, Ontario and at Emmanuel College in Toronto.  His first call was to a two point rural charge in central Ontario, followed by a call to a church in Montreal and most recently to St. James United Church in Etobicoke where he was responsible for Family Ministries and Pastoral Care.  He is currently the Co-chair of the Faith Formation committee of South West Presbytery and co-moderator of several blogs including devotions for Advent and Lent and the use of social media in the church. Rev. Norm’s vocational interests include spiritual practices, worship and music, helping people make connections to the wisdom contained in the stories of all those seeking a relationship with God, pastoral care, stewardship of the earth’s resources, social justice and the use of technology and social media in the church. Rev. Norm lives in Milton with his spouse, Cliff, two daughters, two dogs, a cat and far too many fish.
